Medicare Advantage part c Medicare

Also known as Part C Medicare. Medicare Advantage plans are managed by private insurance companies that give you all the benefits of Medicare and sometimes include drug coverage.

Medicare advantage plans have a lot of different choices, many with low, or $0 dollar monthly premiums.  Drug coverage included with many plans, as well as other benefits such as dental and vision.

Medicare advantage plans are designed around networks, not all doctors participate in advantage programs.  Travel may be more costly if medical care is needed. 

Most Part C Medicare plans are designed as HMO or PPO.

HMO-Primary Care physician is assigned to mange your health care.

PPO-Patients manage own care and usually do not need referrals.
